We adhere to an updated version of the 1689 London Baptist Confession.
Clayville Assembly is an Independent, Calvinist, Baptist congregation devoted to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We acknowledge the full authority of Scripture to rule and regulate our life and faith; and we stand determined to preach the gospel of salvation to as many souls as is possible.
We represent an "old-school" orthodoxy that in our day has almost vanished; at the same time you will find us to be contemporary in our application of all God's Word. We fit into no man's box, are not bound to any external denominational expectation, and desire nothing more than to please our Lord and Savior, and Him alone. Clayville makes use of the King James Bible in our ministry, we sing the Psalms in worship (according to the mandate of the New Testament), the sisters cover their heads when in attendance to the meeting (according to 1 Corinthians 11), and we hold to an updated version of the 1689 London Baptist Confession.
While we hold to these old, time-worn truths of Scripture, yet we still seek to apply these truths to our modern-day culture. Many Reformed meetings seem as if they are trying to relive the Protestant Reformation all over again, and we find them unable to apply the great lessons of the Reformation to history, politics, and the culture at large. Thus they end up becoming "establishment" conservatives, frozen in past thinking. Clayville is not an establishment "church", but a free people in mind and conscience, ever ready to follow our Lord in whatever path He may lead us through His holy Word. Come and visit our Assembly, and prayerfully consider where the Lord would have you and your family serve and worship Him. Check out our radio and TV ministries, and listen to our sermons here on this site or at sermonaudio.com. Be free to follow Christ, and learn of the great joy that is ours when we use this liberty He has bequeathed to us for the service of His Kingdom!
